What ignited your passion?
There was a point in the trajectory of my life when I seemed to have 'dimmed my light' and started presenting a watered down version of myself to the world. I now had my 'self' packed in a tiny, convenient, and presentable box as if to make 'me' more digestible for others. Why? Expectations set for me by others/societal constructs/the media/the world. You need to be this, in order to 'be successful', or that, to be considered 'beautiful', or some other ridiculous thing to be an acceptable friend/colleague/daughter/productive member of society/whatever. It came on so gradually I hadn't even realized it occurred. What was it that I liked? What was it that I wanted? What was it that truly mattered to me? What was it that made me feel acceptable and adequate to myself?
We live in a world where there are so many pressures to be a certain way and I finally felt that set itself aside when I found art and the connection it creates between my most real part of me and the world.
My hope for anyone is they find what does this for them ❤️❤️
